This is why we should never put people up on a pedestal and why the bitcoin-has-no-leaders mantra is useful to avoid disappointment! Tick tock, next block.
I feel like there are only a few people who feel this way, that only a handful of us have been talking about how the Bitcoin Revolution has been hijacked, do you hear others echoing this sentiment?
Thank you very much for sharing. Another way of interpretation of Bitcoin maximalism is also as a fiat maximalist. How so? A banana is a banana. A grain of gold is a grain of gold. A satoshi is a satoshi. Nothing more, nothing less. Money is violent 3rd party conduit value that has to be defined. Any definition must be defended. Anything defensible can be aggressed. Satoshi=barter-able software key
He's been saying otherwise for some time now, but that doesn't mean he's changed his mind if he really believes in what he used to say - "there's no second best". Maybe at this stage it's just more diplomatic, although the assumptions haven't changed - please take that into account ;)
In the interview, The CNBC host kept pressing him about Bitcoin, and all he could say was something to the effect of (paraphrased), "well it's the only neutral digital commodity available, and it can't be broken or controlled by anyone entity. But, the president's going to do what the president's going to do. I've got no fight in this hunt."
Basically, yeah, he gave a politicians answer... Without being able to show conviction on Bitcoin only.
I personally think, at the end of the day, The value problem but you shouldn't have Bitcoin isn't predicated upon whether it gets adopted in a strategic reserve or whether it's the only commodity asset in the reserve, etc. The nodes and the network will keep on ticking, no matter what.
